I walked past the beach today and I could see how the Typhoon 3 had caused a lot of rubbish to wash onto the beaches. This is the best moment to go and clean the beaches! When there is a lot of rain or wind, the day after the beach will be littered with waste. Meaning we can make the biggest impact.

Tomorrow it will be a T8, I can only imagine what the beaches will be like on Sunday. This Sunday I will do a beach clean, because there will be plenty of rubbish to clean up.

Tips on cleaning a beach:

  1. Use a big bag to clean the waste, such as a rubbish bag

  2. Use gloves to prevent getting hurt from sharp pieces of plastic or contaminated pieces

  3. Bring lots of water to stay hydrated

  4. Use sun cream

  5. Observe which companies the plastic is coming from, and challenge them

  6. Do it with your friends and family, for this is community action

  7. Bring some food to celebrate the clean beach

  8. Use social media and spread the word
